Sarawak Energy urges public not to speculate on cause of recent employee death


SIBU: Sarawak Energy is deeply saddened by the passing of an employee in Jalan Paradom, Bintangor on Sunday (May 7).

In a statement on Monday (May 8), the utility company conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of its late employee.

"Out of respect for the family and loved ones of the departed, Sarawak Energy asks that members of the public avoid speculating the cause of death and to refrain from spreading unconfirmed news," it added.

The incident was currently under investigation and Sarawak Energy was extending its full cooperation with authorities.

It was earlier reported that the victim, Mohammad Sabeli, 52, passed away while at work, prompting speculation that it could be from heatstroke.
